I was asked recently—how have I come to have an optimistic perspective on life again? After going through a tragedy, how can I now see light and allow myself to be happy? How can I still see good in the world?

I’ve had certain things come to mind over and over again throughout my own journey of learning to deal with grief and navigate through a tragedy with Jesus there, and a big one is that—our circumstances don’t get to dictate God’s character.
